Control and Management

Making the right purchasing decisions requires the right information. Yet the complexity of contract management often results in companies storing contract information in isolated or offline systems. With Scalable Contract Management for Distribution and Manufacturing, contracts and supply chain reside within the same solution providing transparent, real time information to fuel decision making.

Tracking of Costs

Forming an essential part of overall management of contracts is the need to accurately track and monitor costs associated with a contract. the Contract Management module allows costs to be attached to a contract from the time a deal is agreed through to shipments. The costs may be recorded as budgeted costs initially and then amended or added to as necessary as the contract is executed. The costs flow through the different stages of execution and provide a means of ensuring that the correct costs are accrued for financial purposes and taken into account for inventory valuation and contract profitability.

Higher Visibility

The Contract management module brings the contracts in to the main stream of the supply chain, providing visibility of contract details and status through its comprehensive inquiry, report and work flow options.

Having all contract information stored in one common database ensures high visibility of information for everyone in the organization from the staff involved in the negotiation of the contracts through logistics and in to finance. The overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization is improved.

Shipment and Movement of Commodity

Contract Management provides a number of methods of managing the shipment and movement of the commodities; simple logistics in the contract management module, integration with the Scalable transport module or with the Voyage Tracking module. The ability to mix'n'match the options to suit different requirements within an organization again meets the criteria of control and flexibility.

Quality Adjustments

Contract prices may be determined based on the quality or specification of the commodity supplied. Sets of specifications and price or weight adjustment formulae can be recorded on a contract. When the commodity the specification analysis results are recorded at time of delivery the system will automatically calculate any price or weight adjustments and reflect these as part of the invoicing routines.
