Advanced Production Scheduling
In a manufacturing environment it is vital for production planners to have an overview of production schedules. This schedule includes production orders for which materials and resource capacity have been committed as well as planned production orders generated by Master Planning.
Historically the production planning overview was achieved by using a large wall-mounted 'planning board'.
In most manufacturing organizations having a good visual presentation of the production schedules is only part of the solution. It is very likely that, soon after a schedule has been finalized, an event will occur that requires a change in the schedule.
Microsoft Dynamics AX provides a Gantt chart presentation of production orders and planned production orders that have been scheduled.
Scalable's Advanced Production Scheduling extends the Gantt table in Dynamics AX to provide a production planning 'dashboard' from which tasks scheduled for a work center may be examined in detail, amended, sorted utilizing the new sequence and re-scheduled.
